Summer Date Ideas It’s hard not to get outdoors during the summer. It’s hard to not get out with that guy or gal you’ve been eyeing, so jump right in and take advantage of the warmer weather and summer activities. Here are more than 10 fun summer date ideas for inspiration.

Garage Sale-ing

Summer’s weather creates the perfect situation for some outdoor shopping. Many people have garage sales every weekend, so hit some of those up with your sweetie. Many neighborhoods will get in on it together, so you’ll have plenty garage sales to hop around to.

Two other options, depending on where you live, include antiquing and heading to a flea market. You’ll have to do some research to find these near you.

Get Wet

So, there are tons of options out there if you have any kind of water source nearby — beach, lake, ocean, river, pool, etc. Relax in the pool, or spend a romantic evening in the hot tub. If you don’t have a boat, you could rent a sailboat or canoe for the day for a fun day on the water. Other wet activities include wakeboarding, surfing, swimming, and tubing.

Watch It Outdoors

Drive-in movies are way more fun than the traditional moviegoing experience. See if there are any drive-in movie events in your area and jump on it! If they do showings, many times they’re only weekly, so you need to do research ahead of time.

Also, many parks offer “Movie in the Park” experiences during the summer, so again, check your local events calendar. For either of these, you can bring your own snacks, or a bottle of wine — sit back and enjoy the company!

Hoofin’ It

It may seem obvious to go on a walk, so be creative. Walk through the park, take a stroll through an old, charming part of town, explore a farmer’s market, or even go hiking.

Outdoor Concert/Music Festival

There are all kinds of music events going on during the summer, and many of them are outdoors. Take your date to an outdoor concert or weekend music festival — both are a blast. You can even combine a few things on this list by taking a road trip to a music festival or concert if you’re feeling adventurous.

Fair/Amusement Park

Many county and state fairs are held during summertime, so bring your date out for some good old fun — rides, funnel cakes, and games. It’s also high season to head off to amusement parks, too, so don’t pass up the opportunity!

Going on a picnic may sound typical, but you have the chance to do something creative since it’s (hopefully!) warm out. Pack fresh fruit, wine, and cucumber sandwiches for a sunset or sunrise picnic. Make sure you have a nice blanket to snuggle on, too.
